Execution of Artificial Harmonics
- Left hand will finger the note in the normal position indicated (string number)
- Right hand will lightly touch the string above the corresponding fret with the i finger one octave higher
- The a or p finger will pluck the string behind the i finger

This is an A major scale played in artificial harmonics. The notation is below.
Example Explained
Again, notation is not standardized for natural and artificial harmonics. In this case, the notes fingered are diamonds like the natural harmonics. However, the string number indicates that it would be impossible to play these as natural harmonics. To further clarify, the fret played is given and preceded by an ah for artificial harmonics.
